Community Over Company

It’s been a crazy 3 months with the BreakAway Crew, and we couldn’t be more thankful! 

Together, we’ve taken trips to local surf spots in the UK and enjoyed energized surfskate sessions in London. 

We’ve also had the pleasure of organizing international trips for BreakAway crew members - Morocco, anyone? 🤩 We’re also taking the Warwick Surf Society to Spain soon! 

And we have someone very special to thank for it: YOU!

None of this would have been possible without your commitment to BreakAway - and your trust in us to be good hosts. 💙

…But we’ve been hiding a secret? 

What if I told you none of this was by chance? 

And this was all part of a Grand Masterplan?

That’s right, BreakAway Crew! You’ve been checkmated. 

Because now, you’re our MATES! 

And that was always the plan. 

See, we want BreakAway to be a community. Much like a bunch of mates hanging out for the love of skate and surf. (Also cause we love skate and surf 😂) 

Of course, BreakAway is a company. We need to make money out of this so we can quit our day jobs 😣. 

But before anything, BreakAway is a community. 

So, if you feel like you’re part of something that’s bigger than you: Congrats! You’ve fallen prey to our “devious” plan 😈. 

We wanted to build a meaningful community (pictured above!), not just a revenue-centric company. 

Our founder, Ahmed (@surfakhi) overcame his mental health struggles with surf. For him, it’s not just a fun pass-time. It’s therapy. And we hope it’s the same to you 🥹 - and that we can continue on this healing journey together. 

So, after 3 months of tireless work, we’re proud to say that BreakAway is easily one of the UK’s fastest growing communities! 🥳
